We are pleased to be holding the Annual Kildare Growers Trade Show on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th of July.

The show will be held in the Punchestown Race Course, and will feature stands from the Kildare Growers, Landscapers, other Nurseries and Various home and garden care specialists.

This is an ideal opportunity to come and have a chat with us about your future stock needs, and also to have a look at what we have in stock right now.

We have just completed a design for a large carelabel for all our specimen and topiary plants

Shortly they will be branded under a new logo and supported with a dedicated website.  The entire package will be launched at our spring trolley fair here on our nurseries

Dear Customer,

We have just taken delivery of a wide new range of shrubs and trees for our Autumn and Winter stock.

This includes among many others: Various Buxus, Capsicum, Cortaderia Pumilla, Pernettya, and large sized Taxus and Thuya. Several new varieties and species have been brought in for unusual foliage and colour.

These will all be on display from tomorrow the 2nd of September. We encourage you to come and have a look at this new stock to see for yourself the excellent new range of Autumn Colour.

We have finished building a new section on our website.

This is the Industry Links section of the website, where we list the company name as a link to their website, along with a short description of the services/products the company offers.

We hope that this will allow those who visit our website to view sites that have information and products/services, they may be interested in.

All those who registered on www.rentes.ie site using an e-mail address from their own website has automatically been added to the list. If you are not on this list and wish to be, please contact us and we'll add you as soon as possible. If you are not entirely happy with the description that has been put up, again, please contact us and we'll be happy to change it. We are however limited to 240 characters for reasons of space, so please bear this in mind if you wish to write up your own description.

We would very much appreciate it if those who have been linked to and who have an industry links/suppliers section on their website could add http://www.rentes.ie to their list. We feel that adding links to each others websites would be mutually beneficial in terms of increased website traffic.

The Trade Show for 2008 followed the tradition of being a popular show with both the public and members of the trade.

Despite the rain, the show was well attended and business was brisk with all involved.

TD Trevor Sargent attended and both he and the chairman of the Kildare Growers Group gave speeches on the state of the industry and its continuing growth.

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to attend, you can download a copy of our availability list that was at the show on our "looking good right now" page

We're pleased to announce that we have now started on a campaign to drastically reduce our impact on the environment.

We have started using fiber mats to cover the tops of our potted plants, which leads to the virtual elimination of the need to spray for weeds and other pot-bounds pests.

We have also started introducing lacewing flys and other natural predators such as ladybirds, to reduce the amount of spraying we need to do in order to control pests such as greenfly and spidermite, among others.

Since starting using these, we have noticed a strong reduction in our use of chemicals, and we will continue to find ways to further reduce our use of chemicals.

We have Finished construction of new production facilities that will enable us to expand our most popular lines as well as introducing many new ones into the irish market. Starting in the Spring 2009, we will be introducing a broad range of new product lines.

One of these are new support lines for our large-sized Trees. Due to increased space for stock, this means we are now able to offer our customers a much wider range of oversized trees. These trees are perfect for our landscape clients.

We have also finished contruction of extra outdoor beds and also a large new moving roof tunnel. This new moving roof tunnel will enable us to control climate far more easily, resulting in a greater quality crop that is well timed to suit the traditional busy retail times of the year.

We are pleased to tell our customers that we can now, on request, send you a  photo via e-mail, for use in your sales and promotions efforts.

At the annual Bord Bia Horticulture Ireland awards for 2008, Rentes plants has once again been awarded the Nursery Quality Mark for continued excellence in customer service, product quality, disease and pest control and health and safety for both visitors and staff.
