Rentes Plants is one of the longest running nurseries in Ireland, having been established on just two and a half acres back in 1979.

We have been at the forefront of development in the Irish horticultural industry, by constantly introducing new ideas and services as the years go on.

As early as 1980 we were the first nursery in Ireland to grow its plants in “Rigid” pots. The marketing concept of attaching picture labels to shrubs, and delivery on Dutch and Danish style trolleys, now considered an industry standard were both first introduced by Rentes Plants. Following soon afterwards was the introduction of fax, pre-pricing and bar-coding plants for garden centres.

Rentes plants have been winners of the prestigious Bord Bia “Republic of Ireland Nursery Supplier of the Year” award in 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2005/2006, and 2006/2007 and most recently in 2010/2011. Each other year we placed runner-up.
We have been awarded the Bord Bia “Quality Award” every year since its inception in 2003.
We have won "most environmentally friendly nursery" in Ireland, 2008.
We have also won numerous awards for quality merits, Best in Show, Best new Plant, Best Stand, and many more.
Here at Rentes Plants, we are very proud of these awards, and they are testament to the companys' ethos of providing our customers with the highest possible quality and range of products, and a level of customer service and product knowledge not found elsewhere.

Rentes Plants currently has 16 acres of land under container production, with everything from shrubs to trees, roses to climbers being grown, with a further 10 acres set aside for future development.

Rentes Plants currently has a fulltime staff of 19, many of whom have been with us for over 10 years.

The next generation of Rentes has joined the company with Chris, Roy and Bryan Rentes. Each of the three brothers are looking to bring in new ideas and services. Father and sons will continue to offer the best products available to the Irish market, to its many garden centre and landscape customers all over Ireland.
